Reminder: KAW Proof of Concept Grants in Materials Science for Sustainability 2026

The grants offer researchers an opportunity to bridge the gap between academic research and innovation by developing early-stage discoveries towards validated methods, products, or processes with strong commercial and societal potential.

Researchers may apply for 1–4 million SEK in funding for projects running for up to two years. As part of the Wallenberg Launch Pad (WALP) initiative, the programme aims to accelerate impactful innovations that can contribute to a more sustainable future.

The call is open to researchers financed through the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. The call closes on October 15, 2026, at 13:00.

Reminder: Information webinar on September 7

Interested researchers are also invited to an online information webinar on September 7, 2026, from 16:00 to 17:00 CET.

The webinar will provide an overview of the Proof of Concept Grants and the upcoming call, as well as information for researchers with ideas for commercialising results from materials science research for sustainability.
