Wrapping Up 2024: WISE’s Year of Innovation and Collaboration

As 2024 draws to a close, WISE reflects on an incredible year of groundbreaking initiatives and collaboration.

With highlights such as the allocation of 500 MSEK for research and technology platforms, the approval of 54 research projects in the AP2 call, and the successful launch of the WASP-WISE collaborative projects alongside the IP2 calls, the program has significantly expanded its portfolio to nearly 200 impressive research projects.

Our Research School also hit new milestones, e.g., by organizing several inspiring study trips that encouraged invaluable knowledge exchange among scholars and industry leaders. These events have strengthened connections and sparked fresh ideas.

Earlier this year, WISE made a landmark investment of 500 MSEK to equip seven Swedish universities with state-of-the-art facilities, for synthesis and characterization of materials, creating a cutting-edge national infrastructure for sustainable materials research. This transformative initiative lays the foundation for innovative discoveries and collaborations that will drive progress for years to come.

WISE remains committed to driving impactful research and fostering innovation within our thriving community. Looking ahead, 2025 promises even more exciting developments, with new projects, meeting platforms, partnerships, and educational opportunities already on the horizon. Our new event WISE Networking Day 2025 is set for January 28 and is a groundbreaking platform to spark collaboration and share innovative ideas across industry, academia, and society.  For the third consecutive year, WISE Dialogue 2025, an exclusive opportunity to connect, engage, and grow within the vibrant WISE community, will take place on March 12-13. Together, these events promise to inspire meaningful connections and drive forward the collective impact of the WISE community.

Here’s to another year of transformative science and collaboration!
