WISE is proud to congratulate all the Swedish grantees, in particular, the WISE researchers Alexander Giovannitti from Chalmers University of Technology and Johannes Bintinger from Linköping University.
The European Research Council (ERC) announced early this month the awarding of 400 Starting Grants to young scientists and scholars in Europe. Swedish universities host nine of these young grantees.
The ERC grants are part of the EU Horizon Europe programme dedicated to support all disciplines of research, from medicine and physics to social sciences and humanities. The ERC Starting Grant is intended to give early-career talent the independence to pursue ambitious curiosity-driven research.
WISE is proud to congratulate all the Swedish grantees, in particular, the WISE researchers Alexander Giovannitti from Chalmers University of Technology and Johannes Bintinger from Linköping University.
– I am very grateful and honored to receive support from the ERC. I have benefited from support structures in my network and at Chalmers who helped me to write a compelling and competitive proposal and to prepare for the interview. Being part of the WISE family is an excellent opportunity to expand your network and find researchers with whom you can test ideas and hypotheses. I wish all future ERC applicants all the best!, says Alexander Giovannitti.
-Writing an ERC proposal is a significant challenge, but it should be viewed as an amazing opportunity to boldly articulate your scientific visions. There aren’t many grants that allow such freedom of expression, adds Johannes Bintinger.
