WISE Academic Project Call 2026–2027. Pre-Call Information

This pre-call information is shared to help potential applicants plan ahead. The focus is on materials that use fewer resources, reduce environmental impact, enable efficient recycling, or support low-impact energy technologies, while delivering high performance.

Funding and eligibility

• Up to 29 PhD positions and 29 postdoc positions
• Single researcher proposals with new requirement for sustainability expert as co-applicant
• Main research applicant must be employed at WISE partner universities or affiliated groups
• Sustainability co-applicants should be employed at any Swedish university, industry, consultant company, or institute and have relevant sustainability expertise for the project proposal
• As in previous WISE calls for academic projects, applications undergo a screening process at the participating universities, which determine who is eligible to apply for funding.
