At Uppsala University’s AM@Å Lab at the Ångström Laboratory, newly expanded facilities now house advanced systems for metal powder production and characterization, alongside tools for post-processing additively manufactured components. A newly installed micro-CT system further boosts analytical capabilities, allowing researchers to study the full process chain from powder preparation to final component evaluation.

The event opened with welcoming remarks from Professor Cecilia Persson, Scientific Director of WISE Additive. Attendees were offered equipment demonstrations and presentations highlighting ongoing additive manufacturing research across the university. Invited guest Professor Iain Todd from the University of Sheffield presented recent advancements in metal additive manufacturing, with a focus on emerging approaches to powder recovery, reuse, and recycling.
