Call Now Open: Joint WACQT–WISE Projects on Quantum Technology and Sustainable Materials

The Wallenberg Centre for Quantum Technology (WACQT) and the Wallenberg Initiative Materials Science for Sustainability (WISE) have launched a new call for proposals — now open for applications!

This call aims to spark collaboration at the forefront of research by bringing together expertise from both programs. We invite joint project proposals that explore:

  • Quantum technology for materials science, or
  • Materials science for quantum technology with a strong emphasis on sustainability

Each project must be built on a joint research plan led by two Principal Investigators — one from WACQT and one from WISE.

WACQT, coordinated by Chalmers University of Technology, is working to position Sweden at the global forefront of quantum technology, including the development of a world-class quantum computer.
WISE, Sweden’s largest-ever investment in materials science, focuses on developing next-generation sustainable materials and processes to enable future green technologies.

The call is open to academic researchers affiliated with WACQT’s and WISE’s partner universities and associated excellence groups. Full eligibility criteria are listed under Who can apply on our call page.
