The mutual project call by WASP and WISE to initiate collaboration in the areas of AI, autonomous systems, and software and material science for sustainability closed on 30 September.

– We are pleased to endorse this remarkable array of projects that seamlessly integrate the synergies between AI, autonomous systems, software, and materials science, forging a unified force. We believe that this set-up will be of advantage in the research of future sustainable materials. It is very exciting to see where our collaborations will take us, say Magnus Berggren, director of WISE and Olle Eriksson, co-director of WISE.

-We are very excited to have launched a collaboration with WISE. Supporting data driven approaches to material science is an excellent example of the enabling role that WASP has in many areas of highest possible societal relevance. The granted proposals are putting together excellent researchers with innovative multidisciplinary agendas, says Anders Ynnerman, Director of WASP.

Universities that have been granted funds for WASP-WISE collaborative projects are Chalmers University of Technology, Karlstad University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Linköping University, Luleå University of Technology, Lund University, Umeå University, Uppsala University, and Örebro University.

WASP and WISE are funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (KAW).
