On the 14th of November, WISE will participate at the Circular Initiative 2023, organized by Stena Recycling in collaboration with Investor, ABB, and Alfa Laval.
Circular Initiative is an annual event where decision-makers from industry, tech, business, academia, and politics meet to spark collaborations and to explore the latest advancements in circularity.
Magnus Berggren, Director of WISE, will speak at the event about the WISE research program together with Sara Mazur, Vice Executive Director of the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation and Chair WISE. Furthermore, the high-quality research projects of WISE will be presented at the event and around 40 researchers from the WISE community will participate.
Some of the other speakers of the day will be, Anders Hvid, speaker, author and co-founder of Dare Disrupt, Madeleine Gilborne, Head of Clean Technologies & VP of Energy Division at Alfa Laval, Anna Celsing, Chief Sustainability Officer at Alfa Laval, Ulrika Molander, COO of GreenIron, Mats Olausson, Senior Advisor at Climate & Sustainable Finance at SEB and Felix Herr, Commercial Sustainability Manager at Outokumpu.
-This is an important initiative and will be an excellent opportunity for significant discussions about how material science, through dedicated efforts, can deliver fantastic technology and solutions, accelerating the transition towards a sustainable and circular world, says Magnus Berggren, Director at WISE.

Peter got his PhD degree in applied physics from Linköping university in the 90’s. After getting his degree he worked for 28 years in industry and at research institutes, mainly with thin film processes for electronic devices.

In a scientific breakthrough, researchers have successfully produced a sheet of gold that is only one atomic layer thick: goldene. The discovery stems from a collaborative effort from Linköping University, including Professor Lars Hultman and Professor Johanna Rosén, both WISE researchers. Their findings are published in the journal Nature Synthesis.
