WISE Invited Professor

WISE is proud to invite PIs from the WISE universities and partner universities to propose invited professors to become members of the WISE Community. The WISE Invited Professor (WIP) will be recruited to the participating university, with funding provided from WISE, and through an evaluation and decision by WISE. An invited professorship is intended to be up to 20% of full year employment and will last for up to 5 years. WISE welcomes candidates from academia, industry, and society. A WIP will be part of the WISE network and may interact with researchers in Sweden in the wider scope of materials research for sustainability.

Expectations

The expectations and evaluation criteria are based on the ambition to recruiting excellent researchers with an internationally competitive scientific track record in research fields relevant to WISE. A WISE Invited Professor is expected to strengthen the research environment and to introduce new research areas to Swedish academia, as well as creating new connections to international research and/or between academia and Swedish industry. Scientists at the Professor or Associate Professor level are qualified for a WIP appointment. A limited number of positions for invited professors from industry are also possible.

Eligibility

The following universities are eligible as host universities for WISE Invited Professors: Chalmers University of Technology, Karlstad University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Linköping University, Luleå University of Technology, Lund University, Stockholm University, Umeå University, and Uppsala University. The application is submitted by the host university. Recruitments are made continuously, so applications can be submitted at any time.
