The purpose of the program is to encourage international cooperation and to involve top researchers in WISE. Leading scientists from around the world will be teaching and conducting research at WISE partner universities.

Invited by WISE partner universities
Researchers will be invited to join the Guest Professor program through one of the six WISE partner universities (Chalmers, KTH, Linköping University, Uppsala University, Stockholm University, and Lund University), as well as at Luleå University of Technology, Karlstad University, Umeå University, and Örebro University.

– This program will bring some of the top scientists in materials science to Sweden, and to WISE. We are looking forward to welcoming these researchers into the WISE community, say Olle Eriksson and Magnus Berggren, Co-director and Director of WISE, respectively.

Previous top scientists in the WISE Guest Professor program include Yury Gogotsi, Distinguished University Professor and Charles T. and Ruth M. Bach Endowed Chair in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA, and Magdalena Titirici, Chair in Sustainable Energy Materials in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London and a RAEng Chair in Emerging Technologies.

-My collaboration with Prof. Johanna Rosén at Linköping University has opened new opportunities for MXene research, especially in the modeling and simulation of new 2D materials. We have also brainstormed new ideas concerning MXenes and their use in environmental technologies. Now it’s to implement those ideas, says Prof. Yury Gogotsi.
