Meet people at WISE: Jessica Andersson, communications officer

Prior to joining WISE, Jessica Andersson gained valuable experience as a communications and PR consultant, working in the UK and Stockholm and Linköping. In 2022, Jessica began her journey with WISE as a Communications Officer.

Jessica Andersson pursued her bachelor’s degree in Sydney, Australia, before relocating to Manchester, England, to complete her master’s degree in communication and public relations. Prior to joining WISE, she gained valuable experience as a communications and PR consultant, working in the UK, Stockholm, and Linköping. In 2022, Jessica began her journey with WISE as a Communications Officer.

-Why did you choose to work for WISE?

I love to work with internal and external communications, which are important parts of any organization.  To work at the program office of WISE and to have the opportunity to be part of such an amazing research initiative in material science, that makes a real contribution to society, feels amazing both professionally as well as on a personal level.

-What does your work mean for WISE?

The overall goal is to raise awareness of the research within WISE, and how discovery of novel, advanced materials with improved properties will contribute to a more sustainable future.

-What do you think is the most challenging with communication within WISE?

This is a big research program that grows at a fast speed. We have so many amazing research projects! It is both an agreeable and exciting challenge to try and keep on top of it all.

-What are you most proud of your work in WISE? 

To be part of Sweden’s biggest research initiative in material science with all the excellent science that is taking place here. I also must mention the positive, ambitious culture and fantastic teamwork of the WISE program office.
