The Chemical Imaging Infrastructure (CII)
Purpose and expected use
Surface analysis, elemental and molecular imaging, ultra high-resolution mass spectrometry (FT-ICR/MRMS), MALDI imaging, DART ambient pressure MS analysis, accurate mass determination, Biofuel characterization, Li diffusion analysis, failure analysis, interfaces and grain boundary analysis, Biopolymer and green polymer analysis, isotopic fine structure analysis, depth profile analysis.
Access for users
Entry point for new users and for interested parties is the CII webpage https://www.chalmers.se/en/infrastructure/cii/. Here users can find information on instrumentation and contact details. Training is provided mainly with regular workshops and seminars but also on-demand.

FT-ICR: mass resolution > 20,000,000, mass range 100 – 10,000 m/z, MS/MS, imaging <100 nm, CID, ETD, EID fragmentation, ESI, DART and MALDI
TOF-SIMS: mass resolution: 10.000, mass range 1-2000 m/z, imaging with MALDI >10 µm, Argon GCIB sputtering, Cs/O sputtering, residual gas analysis
