Poster Session: Information and Guidelines

Poster Session

All new PhD students and postdocs are required to present their projects during the poster session. If you prefer not to present alone, you are welcome to ask your PI for support. Instructions for designing your poster can be found below.

You are responsible for printing your poster and bringing it to Norrköping for display in the designated poster session area. Posters will be numbered and should be mounted on the poster wall according to the assigned number. Please follow the on-site instructions. An email with a link for uploading your poster will be sent to all participants, along with detailed instructions. WISE will ensure that your poster is included in the digital poster catalog on the WISE intranet.

The poster session is a great opportunity to share your research ideas, plans, and early project outlines. Please note that this is not a performance evaluation – the aim is to introduce yourself and your upcoming work. It’s also a valuable chance to learn from fellow participants, exchange ideas, and begin building connections and collaborations within the WISE community.

Poster information

Deadline

  • Submission closes Monday 11 of August at 14:00

General Information: How to Prepare Your Poster and Files

  • You may choose to present your poster either by yourself or together with your PI.
  • If you are involved in multiple WISE projects (or have multiple students funded via a WISE Fellowship), you should submit a separate poster for each project.
  • WISE Fellows: Only submit posters for PhD or postdoc projects that have already started or where recruitment has taken place.
  • Please include your WISE project title and ensure your name is clearly visible on the poster.

Poster Requirements

Your poster must include

  • The full WISE logo, including the text “Wallenberg Initiative Materials Science for Sustainability”
  • The Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation logo (Both logotypes are available at the bottom of this page.)
  • For WISE industry projects, also include the name of your industry co-applicant.
  • Save each poster as a PDF file, maximum size 10 MB. You may need to compress the file or export it as a bitmap if it contains high-resolution images.

Poster format:

  • Portrait (standing), A1 size = 594 mm (width) × 841 mm (height)
  • You must print your own poster and bring it with you to the event.
(Local printing will not be available.)
  • We will provide materials for hanging posters (e.g., pins, tape, etc.).
  • All posters will be included in a poster catalog on the WISE intranet, similar to the one from the Welcome Meeting 2024.

Important Guidelines: Naming Your Poster PDF File

To help us organize the poster catalog, please name your PDF file as follows:
PI-Firstname_PI-Lastname_University_[CODE]_[MATRIX-COORDINATE].pdf

Where:

  • [CODE] refers to the project type:
    • f1 = WISE Fellowship
    • ap1 = 1st Academic Call
    • ip1 = 1st Industry Call
    • ww1 = 1st WASP-WISE Call
  • [MATRIX-COORDINATE] refers to your project’s primary location on the WISE Matrix (e.g., a1, d3, e4, etc.).
    (Visit wise-materials.org/research for reference.)
  • If you have multiple posters with the same code, distinguish them by adding a letter (e.g., ap1a, ap1b, f1a, f1b).

Examples:

  • Marie_Curie_Uppsala_ap1a_a1.pdf
  • Alfons_Åberg_LiU_f1b_d3.pdf
  • William_Gibson_Lund_ww1_e4.pdf
