Research question

The physics of the charge carrier diffusion induced nanowire light emitting diodes has been proven to work. Can we bring this technology to a commercially relevant LED architecture? What about the use of Nitrides for shorter wavelength of emission?

Sustainability aspects

LEDs significantly reduce electricity consumption, contributing to cleaner energy use. The use of nanowires is expected to impede total internal reflectance and enable highly efficient LEDs at reduced materials use. LEDs lower energy consumption and have a long lifespan, reducing waste and help mitigate climate change.
