Research question
Our aim is to develop sensors for analysis of chemicals in our environment that can be operated by members of the general public with minimal training. Such Citizen Scientist can carry out regular measurements of chemicals such as nutrients or pollutants in their local water ways, allowing us to gather information in many locations and over long time periods. We set out to assemble our sensors and measurement devices from sustainable materials.

Sustainability aspects
We mainly address the Global Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 6) on clean water and sanitation. By emphasising the use of sustainable materials in our sensor design, we are working towards SDG 12 (ensuring sustainable consumption and production). Our project also touches on SDG3 (good health and wellbeing), SDG 14 (protecting life under water).
