Crafting earth-abundant wide bandgap semiconductors: development of a novel class of MgSnN2 materials
Academic project
PhD
Open
Research question
The main research will be dedicated to tune the composition and structure of the MgSnN2 films. MgSnN2 alloys have only recently emerged, and hence the project has the potential to lead to discovery of new properties and phenomena associated with configurational disorder. The material synthesis is central to the proposed research. The proposed research program also aims at demonstrating prototype device structures (LEDs or potentially tandem solar cell) using the novel earth abundant MgSnN2 semiconductor materials.
