Research area

The project aims to accelerate the exploration of electrolyte additives for aqueous Li-ion batteries by automatically and data-efficiently finding regions of molecular interaction, i.e. inflection points in the phase space of functional additives.

Sustainability aspects

The project seeks to address sustainability issues in energy storage by developing cost-effective and environmentally friendly batteries using readily available materials. This aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 7, which advocates for increased renewable energy use and improved energy efficiency. However, the project also recognizes the potential drawbacks, such as increased raw material consumption and environmental pollution, underscoring the need for careful consideration in the pursuit of sustainable energy solutions.
