Microscopic modelling for sustainable materials applications, 7.5 ECTS
Discovering new materials is something that does not just happen in the lab. Simulations and computational modelling are increasingly used to guide materials discovery, to optimize material properties and to explain experimental observations.
In this course, we will introduce modelling methods from the atomic scale-up, including hands-on sessions where you will run your own simulations. The course caters to all WISE students (theoreticians and experimentalists) and one of the goals is to familiarize experimentalists with the possibilities and limitations of contemporary modelling. Applications of materials modelling for sustainability will receive special emphasis. The course will take place via remote learning.
