WIRA-SET

WIRA-SET(WIRA Sustainable Electrochemical Technologies) will provide industrial relevant settings for researchers to eliminate PFAS (polyfluoroalkyl substances, or “forever chemicals”) and drastically reduce the use of critical raw materials in electrochemical technologies.

Aim

WIRA-SET consists of three companies, Redoxme, IPCO and Alleima, and four research groups. WIRA-SET aims to eliminate the use of PFAS, a large, complex group of synthetic chemicals that have been used in consumer products around the world since about the 1950s, and to reduce significantly the use of critical raw materials in electrochemical technologies, starting with redox flow batteries and proton exchange membrane water electrolysis.
