Research Areas
My research aims at making metal production processes more sustainable through decreasing its fossil fuel consumption and increasing the recycling rates of industrial residues and by-products. My research combines thermodynamic modeling, advanced material characterization, and experiments carried out at steelmaking temperatures to develop solutions for improving the reduction, melting, and refining processes of metals, which will be tested in an industrial environment through close collaboration with metal production companies.
