Bibliography:
Dr.-Ing. Christina Scheffler is the Head of the Cluster Multiphase Systems and Research Group Fiber-Engineering at the Leibniz Institute for Polymer Research in Dresden, Germany. She also holds a professorship at Technische Universität Dresden (TUD), Faculty of Civil Engineering, where she supervises PhD students. She is active in the field of glass and polymer fiber manufacturing by melt spinning, surface modification (e.g. glass, carbon, basalt) for fiber-reinforced polymers and concrete matrix as well as micromechanical composite testing. Her work has garnered several awards, including the 2006 IPF Innovation Award and the title of “TUD Young Investigator” in 2016.
Dr. Scheffler’s is leading numerous research projects, such as the GRADIENT project for enhancing the strength of fiber-reinforced composites, and the ProSize project focused on hybrid yarn properties. She is actively involved in the scientific community, serving on the boards of DFG Research Training Group GRK2250 and the Collaborative Research Center SFB/TRR 280.
The Prof. Christina Scheffler has received WISE Guest Professor grant for two years (starting from 20230801). The objective of this affiliation was to involve the researcher with strong expertise in manufacturing of glass and polymer fibers and surface modification to further develop our research and education in the area of light sustainable structural materials.

Explore invited professors under the WISE program
In this page, you will meet the WISE Invited Professors. The WISE invited professor (WIP) program is part of the recruitment and outreach activities of WISE and targets to establish research connections internationally. The purpose can be both to strengthen excellent research environments and to introduce new contacts and research areas into the Swedish research landscape. Through the WIP program, WISE will collaborate with internationally competitive research environments, enabling crucial networking. This page will be continuously updated.
