SUMMARY:WISE Guest Professor Lecture: Professor Julie Beth Zimmerman\, Uppsala University and Dr. Sandrine Lyonnard\, Uppsala University.
DESCRIPTION:WISE Guest Professor Lecture\nWhen: December 4\, 2025 | 15:00–16:00\nWe are pleased to welcome Professor Julie Beth Zimmerman\, WISE Guest Professor at Uppsala University and Dr. Sandrine Lyonnard\, WISE Guest Professor at Uppsala University. \n\nDr. Sandrine Lyonnard will give a lecture on “Operando battery characterization at the synchrotron : pushing the frontiers of spatiotemporal analysis.”\nAbstract: Synchrotron techniques have great advantages due to the high penetration power of hard x-rays\, ultimate space and time resolutions available\, and chemical sensitivity\, enabling to perform fast spatially-resolevd parameter mappings and obtain the finest details of chemical structures in complex environements. These characteristics make them particularly suited to probe materials transformations during the charging/discharging process of a battery. Combining several techniques within multimodal workflows is even more powerful\, as we can image reaction and degradation mechanisms directly inside the devices and gain a holistic understanding of the various processes. I will illustrate this on recent examples based on tomographic techniques applied to Li- and Na-ion systems.\nProfessor Julie Beth Zimmerman\, WISE Guest Professor at Uppsala University: “Designing a Green Chemistry Future”.\n\n  \nRegister to the event here. \n
